OF THE DISCOVER YOUR HANDWRITING
CHALLENGE 🎉
After weeks of reading, reviewing, evaluating, and carefully analyzing hundreds of submissions, we are thrilled to officially announce the winners of the Discover Your Handwriting Challenge, 2nd Edition.
First and foremost, we extend our deepest gratitude to every participant who dedicated time, creativity, and effort to this competition. The challenge was created to discover hidden literary talents, encourage original storytelling, and celebrate the beauty of authentic handwritten creativity. The response exceeded our expectations.
A total of 267 participants submitted their works from different backgrounds, each bringing unique ideas, perspectives, and artistic expressions. The level of participation demonstrates that storytelling remains a powerful tool for sharing experiences, imagination, and knowledge within our communities.
However, maintaining fairness and integrity was one of our highest priorities throughout the evaluation process. During the review period, our assessment team identified approximately 50 submissions that were eliminated from the competition. Several reasons led to disqualification, including the submission of content generated by artificial intelligence without authorization, copying and pasting works belonging to known and unknown authors, violations of the challenge rules and regulations, duplicate submissions, and manuscripts that did not meet the minimum quality or content requirements established by the competition guidelines.
While these eliminations were unfortunate, they were necessary to protect the credibility of the challenge and ensure that genuine talent received the recognition it deserves. We believe creativity flourishes best when originality, honesty, and hard work are respected.
The selection process involved multiple rounds of assessment focused on originality, storytelling quality, creativity, presentation, adherence to the competition requirements, and overall impact. After careful consideration, our judges selected the three strongest submissions from the eligible entries.
🥇 FIRST PLACE WINNER
THE LAST LATERAN (Story)
Author: Adeline Maombe
We proudly congratulate Adeline Maombe for securing the First Place position in the Discover Your Handwriting Challenge. The story The Last Lateran stood out for its originality, narrative strength, captivating storytelling, and exceptional literary quality. The work demonstrated remarkable creativity and left a lasting impression on the judging panel.
As the First Place Winner, Adeline Maombe receives the grand prize of $7 and earns the distinction of being crowned the overall champion of this edition of the competition.
Furthermore, we are pleased to announce that The Last Lateran is the only winning work that will be published in full on our official website, allowing readers worldwide to experience the story and celebrate the author's achievement.
🥈 SECOND PLACE WINNER
Author: Emanuel Gashirabake
Our heartfelt congratulations go to Emanuel Gashirabake, whose theatrical work Nazize Ubwinkware earned Second Place among a highly competitive field of participants. The submission impressed judges through its strong structure, creative expression, and engaging presentation.
For this outstanding achievement, Emanuel Gashirabake receives a prize of $5 and recognition as one of the leading voices discovered through this year's challenge.
🥉 THIRD PLACE WINNER
PRETTY INSIDE DEMON (Story)
Author: Lyan Ndengo James
We also proudly celebrate Lyan Ndengo James, whose story Pretty Little Demon secured Third Place in the competition. The work displayed creativity, imagination, and compelling storytelling that distinguished it from many other entries received during the challenge.
For this achievement, Lyan Ndengo James receives a prize of $3 and joins our list of distinguished winners for the Discover Your Handwriting Challenge, 2nd Edition.
A MESSAGE TO ALL PARTICIPANTS
To everyone who participated, we want you to know that your effort matters. Not winning does not diminish the value of your talent or potential. Every great writer, playwright, poet, and storyteller begins with a single opportunity to share their voice.
This competition was not only about finding winners but also about encouraging growth, confidence, and creativity. We encourage all participants to continue writing, refining their skills, and preparing for future competitions and publishing opportunities.
The judges witnessed many promising talents whose work showed enormous potential. We believe that some of today's participants may become tomorrow's authors, playwrights, journalists, screenwriters, and literary leaders.
