The title "Shadow of Light" Serves as a central Metaphor for Rwanda remembers and honors the victims of Genocide against the Tutsi during 1994. In this poem, the "Shadow" represents those our lovely people who were lost their lives, while the "Light" represents the survivors and new generations born from them.
The poem reflecting the idea that a light can never exist or move without its shadow. Similarly, The Rwanda and Rwandan to day do not walk alone but they carry the memory of the fallen with them in every steps and stand as a symbol of these died by defending their pride and witnessing that they have never perished but they are living.
The survivors stand as a living symbol like a Candlelight that keeps the darkness away by proving that while physical lives were taken, their presence remains an inseparable part of the nation's soul.
They walk together, forever bound as a testament of resilience and eternal remembrance even Evil grounded our country, Ndi Umumyarwanda Isoko Iduhuza is Inextricably linked as light and its shadow.
